Hi, a friend of mine bought what hw beleives to be a 1965 Supra. I haven't seen the drum. According to the serial number, 255427, it appears to be a 65, but the snare has 8 lugs. Neither him or me had seen an 8 lug Supra before. Did Ludwig ever made an 8 lug Supra, or can he be mistaken?

No supra's are 10 lug. it must be a acrolite.

A bunch of Ludwig snares..... + Dyna & P.Tone.
and always trying to recover some orphan drums!!
Already asked for pictures of the drum, the throw, the badge and tone control, as well as the date stamp of the shell.
they didn't make them into regular production drums, but there were some 5x14 8 lug supras. I have one in a blue olive badge. I have seen one in keystone badge. it was original, chrome, unaltered badge and with imperial lugs. here is my b/o model. i'll see if I can find a pic of the keystone too..

I'll try to upload some pics of the snare. It's a keystone badge with baseball bat tone control.
Made them in 65 for a short period.

Don't even need to know the throw, the badge etc.. to know if it is an Acrolite/Supraphonic.
What style lugs does it have, and is it chromed?
It'a center beaded chrome shell with imperial lugs. I asked for the pics because qe have seen a couple of frankenstain snares with one model shell using another model hardware, and the seller tryng to pass it as a legitimate original.
