About two years ago, I spotted a red set in a pawn shop in Niagara Falls, Ontario. All that was missing was the rubber strip that fit around the outside of the bass shell. The owner said that it wouldn't be a problem finding the piece. He let me try them out and those things sounded like thunder! I wish I had purchased them. Truly unique!

I still have my Staccato Thunderhorn kit I bought back in the early 80s. Its a white kit, two 22 kicks 10, 12, 13, racks and a 16 floor tom. I still use it on special gigs, outdoor venues and halloween shows. It has the vintage snap change lugs,DOH (which I never liked) and fiberglass shells.

I had to hire a broker to get them out of the Staccato factory and out of the country, (talk about alot of phone calls), but in the end it was worth it. I played that kit for many years before giving it a long temporary retirement.

So like I said, I'm breaking out those monstrositiesLoLoLoLo again for gigs that warrent the extra pay and sweat to get them around, but would like to add a 6, 8 and 14 racks to the kit as well as all new lugs to replace the vintage ones.

I think they opened the staccato line again , but if anyone has any info, i'd like to hear from ya.Coffee Break2
