Having worked(&still currently working), in the bearing industry for 30yrs! :).
I'd advise&suggest to ANYONE replacing the bearings in the pedals to use fully rubber sealed, as these are fully sealed for life&easier to inspect&grease.The open type bearings are prone to get&let in foreign matter(dirt dust etc) in&then they sieze due to either lack of lubrication or foreign matter(dirt dust etc) getting in between the ball cage &locking&seizing.The other alternative is to use fully metal sheilded bearings these will allow much faster speeds!, BUT they're impossible to remove the sheilds(covering the ball cage)., to inspect the grease&condition.
