I've made some good scores off ebay, and some not so good. This time I think I did really good. I bought a Aug., 1967 Acrolite (serial #531707) this week off ebay. The ad said it was in "great condition" and as far as I could tell from the photos it was. It arrived yesterday and wow, am I happy. A much more accurate description would have been "Like New". Yes, the batter head showed a lot of use but other than that this thing is immaculate. Not a pit or spot of rust, even on the t-rods. It's as though it came out of a time capsule. The person that owned this knew how to take care of drums. It came in a black fiber case with the usual practice pad and snare stand. The stand is in excellent shape also, no rust or pits. The stand has the clamp type height adjustment like the old "round patio feet" stands from the 1950s to early 1960s but it has the later 60s twisted rod feet.
The case has a Denver Mile-Hi Band logo on it. Does anyone know anything about this?
Anyway, I put a new Remo Vintage Emperor head on the Acro and it's ready to rock...I'm stoked!
