Hey...
Just thought I'd share... I picked up several (4) really cool snare drums over the last couple of months. I'm going to keep one of them and sell off the rest. I'll post up some photos tomorrow. If anybody is interested in any of the following drums, pm me.
The 'Keeper'
I found a 1968 Ludwig Acrolite in absolute cherry-mint condition! I mean, it looks like it just came right out of the box. Cleaner than Skeeter's Peter! I'm holding on to this one. It looks and sounds great.
The 'Flippers'
1. Pre-serial Ludwig COB (chrome over brass) Super. (I already own and play one of these, one of my favorite snares.) This drum is in a strong 8.5/10 condition. Clean, couple of tiny dingers in one panel that takes effort to see. All original except heads. I got a really good deal on it, so I can pass the savings on to the next guy and still make a couple of bucks. I'm going to put it out for $650. That's a steal compared to fleabay. I've seen these go for over a grand.
2. Early 50's Leedy & Ludwig - Reliance 8-lug 5"x14" 3-ply (maple/poplar/mahogany from inside out,) in a natural mahogany finish. All original except for heads and the wires. I added a set of the Puresound Split-wires. Eliminates sympathetic snare buzz! Great sounding snare drum. Same woody crack as a JazzFest. Very similar sounding drum to a J-Fest. I'll probably put it out for $275. The drum is clean and comes with 8 of those great chrome over brass Imperials, COB single-flange hoops & clips. Sweet drum! 50's rare badge.
3. Ludwig 80's deep-dish 6.5"x14" hand-hammered Supraphonic. Dry as the desert sand! Killer sounding/loud snare drum. For Rockers... I'll probably put it out for $375 to stay under fleabay prices.
I'll post up some shots of these shortly. Like I said, if anybody wants one, or three, pm me. If you don't know me, check my feedback in the General Section under; Seller Feedback.
* The Acro is MINE! Don't even ask! LOL
