Sold! '67 Wood WMP Dynasonic Last viewed: 22 hours ago

Loading...

Hi All,

I haven't posted for quite awhile...wife, family, and all the attendant stuff.

Today I finally sold the WMP Dyna serial # 9144 on Ebay.

So, as some of you may reflect on this sale, as I'm sure a few of you were watching over the last several weeks. What are your opinions now on vintage Rogers market? The sale price was $1800US for a very nice drum that would have fetched $2500-$3000 or more "back in the day"

Cheers!

It's precisely where it has been heading over the past couple of years. Rogers is coming down slowly but steadily. Ludwig has dropped, but is now holding (with a slight dip every now and again). Slingerland is rising ever so slightly. Gretsch is a mutant player and doesn't want to be bothered with reality. The English drums of Premier are beginning to be noticed a bit more by people. The rise has not happened, nor will it to the degree we have seen in other makers drums. Etc Etc Etc.

You can get a nice nice 60s or 70s Rogers kit WITH COB Dyna or wood PowerTone for under a grand ... easily ... (depending on finish).

Thanks for the comments.

So answer this question for me; I continue to see the wood Dyna's on Ebay list at $2500+ some as high a $4000. Why is that? Obviously not selling though.

The logic that drives those items at the heightened prices is identical to the logic that drives a single T-Rod for $21.00 ... saw it on ebay today.

In a word - flawed.

No kidding! Flawed logic drives so many things from foreign policy to (as we've seen) drum prices!

Was the t-rod solid silver? :)
