These are not made by Slingerland... the lugs are modern 'brass' repro's.

But thanks for the input anyhow. I actually didn't know that about Slingerland lugs!

From Purdie Shuffle

.Slingerland - It's an early 50's 'deep-dish' 7" x 14" 3-ply mahogany w/rock maple re-rings. 3-point strainer, brass clips and single-flange hoops and original Radio King calf-skin heads. The drum is in immaculate condition and it sounds awesome. I'm using it with my Mahogany Club Date kit that I just restored recently. John

Yeah rub it in some more John. Ouch.

I missed out on that Sling by minutes... :(

Didn't someone quote Rod Stewart last week "..some guys have all the luck.."?? lol

What's the story with the shells from 52'?

Thanks Larry, I'm having big fun playing this kit. As warm sounding as you would imagine it to be. After Jeff added the veneer, they are now 4-ply mahogany shells. Between the new/old drums and the RK I'm in Drummer Heaven.

"Where were you in 52~!?!" LOL it's really 62 but.....

John.... you know I thought that snare had SK lugs. Then when you posted your pics I saw the BT's and figured it was another drum I was thinking about. Those new lugs are very nice and cool they brass too! I've seen a few EB ad's and they state they are brass. Nice to know they really are! LOL man I had a senior moment over the lug swap. And the RK hoop too. Nice to see both sets of pictures. And I'm not gong crazy....yet. It's a real sweetie too. Enjoy it.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

They are very -HEAVY- lugs! Excellent repro's, 'chrome over brass' as I said. They were -directly interchangeable- with the mount holes on the other Slingerland lugs.
