Slingys out at a gig Last viewed: 1 day ago

Heres a few pics of my red sparkle Slingys 12, 14, 20, with matching snare, which I bought a while back

from fellow VDF member kevins ( thanks Kev!)

I was filling in for these guys' regular drummer who was working about

3000 miles away at the time, so it was a case of winging it the whole way!

A good time was had by all though, we had a ball and kept warm on a cold Sunday arvo.

Cheers Stevo.

Cool Wado, i hadn't noticed the footy on the telly!

It wouldn't a proper country pub without the footy on on a Sunday afternoon though would it?

Cheers Stevo.

Hi Stevo,

Looks like a fun gig. I personally think classic red sparkle is one of the coolest finishes ever put on a drum.

Best regards,

Rob

Do you mean that you see soccer on a television in background? All I can make out is a green and beige blob on the TV screen. You have much better eyes than I.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

They be a hard lookin' lot, but the drums is pretty darn nice.

He explained footy above. Footy is on the television, soccer as you say, but again disguised that by saying telly, didn't he?

Those are nice Slingy drums. I'm kinda partial to that color, too. My 1966 Red Glass Glitter 22-13-16-matching snare set is, to me, the benchmark for American made drums in the mid 20th century. I feel the same about my 20-12-14 Slingy set from 1968 or 1969. I'm one guy here who does not like snare stands to hold MOUNTED toms or flying the toms from anything other than mounting hardware on the bass drum. But, if one of those methods works for you, that's fine with me.

Not soccer, he means footy ie Australian Rules Football... Youtube it.

Great looking Slingerlands too.
