Can anybody tell me if Slingerland ever made a 16" stick-saver rim with 7 (in lieu of 8) holes?
Thanks in advance for your time.

I've never seen one myself?
Gary post the pics of this shell for the forum to see. Maybe it was a custom order for an endorser? Man that is a new one on me. As we say with Slingerland nothing is out of the realm.
Coronet [MIJ] did. I owned a 7-lug 16X16 Coronet floor tom. So if it's the rims you have in hand, they could be MIJ. I imagine they'd be lighter-weight than the real thing but you never know. They certainly look the same...if it's the shell you have in hand then disregard this message.

Gary thanks I understand now what you were asking me, Yeah the shell is slingerland the rim isn't.

Mitch -- Thanks for your time and the information you provided. I've got both the Slingerland shell and the rim "in hand", since I'm helping out an acquaintance complete a Slingy kit that used to be his dad's. The 16 inch shell has eight lugs. My friend needed one Stick-Saver rim to complete the drum. When the rim he purchased arrived I noticed that it had 7 holes, in lieu of 8. Obviously, it couldn't be used on his floor tom. The rim may be slightly lighter than a Stick-Saver but not significantly so.
Here's a pic of the shell, the drum and the rim that was purchased.
Nice floor tom, beautiful interior. The rim, I probably wouldn't be able to tell even if I had it...in hand.
I just did a real quick google hunt and the same theme kept cropping up, MIJ. Case not necessarily closed though...
