Slingy Model ? - Student, Krupa or H'wood Ace?

CL listing in KCity - Original post was without pics, so after requesting some, he posted these. Thinking about making an offer, but want to get in the right ballpark. Can you guys help id from these pics?

I think it's a '59-'61 Student. 6 lug, Rapid strainer, no muffler, original calf. Bottom of the strainer looks a little wonky to me - and a bigger concern, he has noted:

I lost the screw for the throw, so I put a bolt from the hardware store in it. From the pics I think he means the knurled tension knob.

What do you guys think?? Love the apparent WMP condition, but for me, I just need better pics overall. I know there are better eyes here than mine :o

Just trying to be as well armed as I can before going to battle over a price or ask for more pics.

This is the deluxe student model. a Rk student model sales in the 200 to 250 range so below that is your starting point.

Thanks again, John. BTW-He's asking $150, so I'm going to go up to that, but start at $90 + shipping. (We need an emoji for crossed fingers :)) I restored a '53 7" WMP RK H'Wood Ace Swing last year that I thought this would compliment nicely. I'll post if I get it, of course.

You may want to find a replacement rapid strainer first to determine your offer. A Ludwig p 83 or p 85 will fit the same holes.

The missing tension knob would originally have had a rubber grommet on it that rubs against the the throw off unit to keep the knob from loosening.

Had one very similar...which I had to replace the strainer with a p83 as well...

Single ply steam bent...

I know dating isn't 100% by badge - it's the tale of all hardware....so....

Great tip on the rubber grommet Rich, - since I don't see any sign of one on here while the rest of the throw looks original(?), compare to the post-'61 Third gen Rapid rubber grommet strainer (below)....it could just be missing and I'm wrong in my guess, too.

As far as 13" - can't tell from here-anybody else? - I asked him to measure, but haven't heard back yet.

Since the Rapid didn't appear on anything other than marching snares until 1958 (thanks, Dr. Wenk), looks like a '58 to '61/'62 model year?

Looks like possibly an original (damn near virgin) Slingerland stamp calf ... any idea when those were "included" with the purchase??

That's my (easily swayed) guess. But since I haven't heard back from him, this may all be just exercise - but I sure love the hunt when you guys help. It's like walking with expert trackers on a trail of a worthy prey. :) The reason I'm trying to narrow in on the exact original strainer is because I'm still inexperienced enough to be a bit of an idealist when tackling even a small resto project.
