Slingy finishes

Loading...

Hi all. This my first post. Was wondering ...back in the 60's Ludwig offered Lacquer in solid colors ie Black, Gold, Green as well as the ducos. Did Slingerland put out any solids in the sixty's??? I want to refinsh a Blu/silver duco snare that is pretty scarred up and it would really be easier to go solid or stain the Maple to a Walnut or Mahogany. Is that going to kill resale value?

Welcome to the VDF. the paint on your duco drum if it's really toast, yes it will still have an effect on the resale of the drum, but with that said, not as large of a degree as a wrapped shell would have. yes slingerland had Natural stained finishes back on the timeline you've asked about, here look at the link. http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/slingerland_finishes.html

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

I'm sorry, but I must be blind. All I see are pearls/satins. Solid lacquer colors (not duco)or natural maple or maple stains are where? l'm looking in a date range of 1960-67.
