Yes that's real and it is the tension side. The throw side has 2 indents where the handle can click into position. It looks like it might be the 3rd version. With just the screw hole in the bottom.

Value? I see them go for $15-20 up to $40-50+ each side depending on condition and how complete. They came in both nickel and chrome finish also.

I don't sorry. As you know they are hard to find. I tried many drum shops and parts guys all over the US. Only place I really see them is ebay. I'll keep a eye out for you though. Will let you know if I see something.
BTW the one in the pic is not mine. It is Jeff's. He sent me a few pictures a while ago. I actually made one out of wood I used until I got the correct factory parts.
They are hard to find. I recently found one but had to pay handsomely for it. The tension side I got didn't even have the tension knob and that is proving to be just as hard to find. Keep me in mind if you just find the tension knob anywhere!
Not mine.
^^^ here's a complete tension side. She's hurting a bit though. You can see the body is bent and twisted a bit. See the underside pic. Hard to see but trust me she's bent. Common fate many of these had. It can be straightened out with some TLC and repaired. $50 a bit steep and it's the second style of the first 2 early tab versions. Where it has a tab to capture the slot in the snare wires vs the later ones that used a screw hole and or hex swivel nut. You could mod it to accept the screw or hex swivel nut. Or grab it for the parts you need and re sell just the body.
That's a thought but I already have $100 into the other parts. And they way that thing looks, someone is only going to pay $10 once I take the knob out.
Do you have pics of the wood one you made? Would be neat to see.
