Slingerland Tempo King Par Excellence! Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Hi All!

I recently purchased this Tempo King pedal to go with my newly acquired 1970 "Sparkling Purple Pearl" Modern Solo/New Rock Outfit... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Slingerland-Super-Tempo-King-Bass-Kick-Drum-Pedal-/190907694712?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=JL4X6gs3RzT5KAl76b3VVsDwuxY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

The Tempo King arrived and is incredible! However, I made it even better by swapping out the black nylon spring cam for a fully enclosed ball bearing cam and "S" hook from a Slingerland Yellow Jacket pedal. Picture attached. The pedal is incredibly smooth, silent and fast and one of the best pedals I've ever played, including most modern pedals!

As to my Purple kit, I'm still doing a few things to it and will take/post pictures when complete!

I picked one up at the Delaware show and it went right to the top of my list.

It's an extraordinary piece of equipment. The only mod I did was put a washer on the outside of the loop because I've had springs de rail on pedals before .

Thanks for all the positive comments!

As to the polish and paint, I purchased it this way. It really is an impressive Tempo King, both visually and in operation!

Hey longjohn!

I've had lots of Tempo King pedals over the decades and this one is the bomb! I first hesitated at the cost, but once I checked it out up close, it's worth every penny. Allot of time went into this... and it shows!

How old is that pedal?

It looks brand new.

Was it NOS?

Or refurbished by a pro?

Looks marvelous.
