That's a Slingerland Special Student Drum ....Model 159.... 1959 to 1961

The Student Model Radio King has eight lugs....

Ah, looks like it's date stamped Jun 14th 1959....

You can see it here in the catalog scans.

Link............

Very pretty, looks like it has been well taken care of.

Buying... (message too short!) Cool Dude

btw, I live in Buenos Aires and currency change make the vintage market quite different (than the states for example)

I'd say about $150 here in the U.S.A. then.

It looks to be in good+ condition to me.

You could maybe get a little off the seller's asking price since it has that name "CUESD" written a couple of times inside the shell.

The eight lug student model can go for up to $275

If you were selling I couldn't give an estimate, cause I wanna buy it !!

Heck yeah, it's playable !!

I'd just keep it tuned down when you're not using it regularly.

Keeps the strain off those hoop clips.....

I had a later model,it had sticksaver hoops, those could be chrome over brass,I have a Black Dawg snare that has cob hoops and compared to triple flange it opens up and smooths the high end ring. The 6 lug sling I had was a very open sounding drum to start with, and a great shuffle /blues drum,I used to attempt new orleans second line grooves on it and it got me as close as I have ever been, so with brass rims it should be even more open and warm. Also probably a nice little jazz drum too.If you can get it for between 100.00 to 150.00 U.S equivalent they are nice little drums to have in your arsenal/collection.From the pics it looks to be in great shape,I am no expert on slings but the grommett and badge appear to be unmodified,so it doesn't look like a re wrap to me.
