Slingerland Phantoms - Indianapolis, IN Last viewed: 8 hours ago

Loading...

Hi I'm new to the Vintage Drum forum. I've had a set of Slingerland acrylic drums for about 15 years that I've found to be called Phantoms.

I haven't been an active player for a few years now and don't really know much about restoration of vintage drums so I think I'd like to find them a new home.

I know that these drums aren't that common, and because of that I know very little about them and even less about the best way to sell them fairly.

Can anyone help me with this? I'd be so grateful.

Nathan

P.S. - I can certainly get a few pics up on here soon if that would help.

Nathan good to have you with us, there are several threads about your drums here on the forum. they are indeed rare for Slingerland, The pictures would be a big help. please post them when you can.

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, indeed these are rare, as I think Slingerland only produced them one and maybe two years in the mid-to-late 70s. Ludwig seemed to have pretty much cornered the market with their "Vistalites." Pearl also produced acrylic drums in this era, but they are also very hard to find now.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
