Slingerland Mutt Set: What Would You Pay?

I came across a gold sparkle orphan "mutt" Slingerland set; 14x20 center lug BD, matching 8x12 center lug tom, a 60's Japanese Slingie clone snare, and a recent low end Ludwig floor tom. The seller recovered the snare and floor tom to match. There are newer hoops on the BD. The set looks nice. Drums are in good shape all around. No issues. He did a good job on the recover. Seller is asking $485 with a Gibralter heavy duty boom stand a RIMS mount for the rack tom.

What would you pay for this kit? I'm thinking $350.

I can use them for small space gigs.

I'm a big Slingerland fan for the past sixty years since acquiring my first drum--a hand-me-down metal shell student model snare drum. One thing I love about Slingies is that great drums can be bought for relatively little money. If I were going to offer to buy this drum set, I would not consider the firewood snare drum to be part of it. Because the floor tom is quite different except for color, I would not offer a cent more than $300 for the drum set.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

I think that's about right. The snare drum is a six-lugger as you can see, but I was actually impressed with the sound. It was very crisp and resonant. It looked like it had a better quality wood shell. It wasn't luan, as I expected.

I'm going back Tuesday. The man has some old 60's Zildjians; 14" hats, two 18" crash/rides, and a 20" ride. I'm also interested in those at this point.

Depending on the quality and condition of the cymbals, maybe $450 tops for the whole shebang would be in order.
