Slingerland Blue Satin Flame SOLID MAPLE - 1970s Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Loading...

Up for sale is a 6 piece solid maple Slingerland in Satin Blue Flame from the 1970's. The kit includes the 6 drums, and 2 original tom mounting stands (will hold 4 drums) The drum sizes are 8x12, 9x13, 10x14, 12x15,16x18, 14x24. The drum shells are solid maple and sound amazing, and the bearing edges are in immaculate condition. The wrap has a fair amount of scuffing on it, especially the bass drum (see pictures). The hoops on the bass drum in the pictures is not original, but I have the original black hoops that I'll include upon buyers request. Other than that, the drums are 100% original.

Here's a link to my Reverb.com listing with pictures and what have you.

Nice outfit !

To be more specific, those shells are 3-ply..... maple interiors...poplar middle ply....and mahogany exterior ply

Not solid maple

It looks to be about a 1977 "RJB" (Rock Jazz Blues) Outfit by the serial number pictured and configuration..

The toms could be ordered in the new 5-ply layup of maple interior, pop-mahog-pop middle and mahog exterior

I'm getting all this from the Slingerland section of the Drum Guide available on our site.

Link to Slingerland section

I don't think there was a Slingerland outfit named Artist in the seventies... eighties is a different story....

Again, cool outfit, good luck with your sale !!

Hi folks. Dustin at Coalition drumshop has these blue satin flame sligerlandsfor sale for me. I bought them from original ownerover20 yrs ago. He purchased them in 71. The wrap is circa 67. I assure u the shells are solid maple. The drums were always cased. I allways cleaned them and polished the hoops, they look like the day them come off the showroom floor. Im getting up there in age now and still play, but need a smaller kit.I love this kit, im hoping they'll go to someone who'll love them as much as i do.

Then they are the only solid shell 1967 set from 1977 around....:)

This is the picture of the badge from the set that hackingwood posted a link to.

Clearly it is a seventies Niles badge and the serial number 35219(maybe8)2 puts it at 1977 or within a year or two of that.

There is no snare drum, it's just the 5 toms, bass drum, and stands.
