Slingerland badge question

Take a look at this Slingerland 70's floor tom and tell me if the badge placement looks weird to anybody. It is placed high on the shell closer to the top than the middle. Thanks

If I was a bettin' man, I'd say that badge is placed where the dampener adjustment is supposed to be. No way I'd play this game.

I haven't personally seen a Slingerland badge placed there, but I have seen other odd things come out of that factory. I'd want to see pics of the shell's interior.

And just in case anyone wonders... I have absolutely nothing to do with the "eldocaddyskydog" who posted the auction on eBay.

I saw one not long ago on an orphan 12" Slingy tom at a "sell it again" shop. I passed. It just looks too wrong.
