Slingerland 14x14 Snare question

Loading...

hey all. new here and looking for help.

so I have this huge 14x14 slingerland snare. I'm looking to sell it but i don't know a lot about the drum and have no idea what it's worth. hoping someone here might have an idea of a fair price.

I was told it was a marching snare from the 60's. beautiful gold sparkle which I was also told was most likely originally silver but has naturally yellowed with age. it's in really great shape. maybe 2 very small scuffs on the entire shell. all parts fully functional and appear to be original. no rust. it has a nice deep sound but I'm looking for something a little more versatile.

I'm looking to get a vintage rogers dynasonic so want to get as much as I can for it. I have found absolutely no info about these online. are these things really that rare?

anyone have an idea? any and all info is greatly appreciated!

Plenty of pics especiall of the badge, interior, serial number and I would also suggest re measuring the the drum, without the hoops/rims included.Bearing edge to bearing edge.Normally marching shares are 14x12,not 14x14.They arent rare at all,and even to a serious collector,in excellent original, marching snares bring about 150 US tops. There are some exceptionsbut that's the going rate.

The majority of Slingerland's marching drums were either 10x14 or 12x15. Pictures will really help here.

Wow I did type 12x14....my bad, you're right Mark,10x14,and 12x15 was pretty standard with some exceptions..But I did find what Slingerland called a scout model,in a 30's catalog, that was 14x14,so maybe the OP's measurement is correct.

So, here we have this new member seeking advice, also posting the same question at DFO. I certainly don't mean to be cynical, but if a question is being asked, please follow up with additional information so we can help. As previously stated, we need pictures.
