Why did slingerland put the badge on 12" tom so far to the right? You can't see it from the front.

I have a 12" Slingerland tom with the badge in the same position, directly opposite the mounting bracket. I always figured it was so it could mount on either the left or the right without a badge facing backwards.

I guess that is why most drum companies put two badges on then. My gretsch has one if front and one in back.
Impossible to get it right with a six lugger... badge never will face forward ... but later on production they came back around one panel towards the tom mount...
Cheers

Guess I will just have to get used to it. Or turn ft badge and snare badge so audience doesn't see them
Is it so important for all or none of the drums to have badges visible?
I'd just take it as a quirk of vintage drums and go with it.
