It is a little rough but I love this finish. it is a real bugger to remove but the wrap is cool.

I always thought those were classy looking drums, at least for the first week or so.

Thanks for posting these. It's a pretty cool kit.

Wow... I haven't seen one of these copper kits in years. The first one I saw was in the 'Vox Room' music store in Sacramento. I don't remember if it was new, or a trade in, whatever.

I DO remember talking to the swamper guy they had that dusted and cleaned up stuff while waiting for my friend that worked there. The cleaning guy mentioned they started tarnishing seconds after hitting the floor. I always assumed he was kidding, but now that I think about it, I have to wonder.

Hard to find finish...

I had a 14 -14 once...and it had rust spots all over it....too bad....

I've got a double BD kit. As is usually the case, the copper wrap is in terrible shape. A major bummer...and a project I'm not looking to take on anytime soon - I understand that removing the wrap is a major undertaking.

Will the coper patina to a green like brass? That'd be pretty cool.

There was a guy that took one of those copper (or brass, or whatever they are) NOS Slingerland snare shells from Himonwry on eBay and tarnished his. He cleaned it first, then wrapped it in a cheesecloth that was soaked in saltwater I believe. It came out looking pretty cool.
