Does anybody know how to date Slingerland drums buy their serial numbers?

I have a snare drum with serial # 483493 black on aluminum oval badge.

Also a tom tom serial # 85691 with the same badge.

I think they are early seventies but I am a Ludwig guy and don't know for sure.
