Here's another silver Ludwig badged drum. If I remember correctly, K.O. had one of these drums. This might be the 3rd or 4th I've ever seen.

Yeah, I have an early Black Beauty with a badge like that. Mine has a serial number hand etched into it. It was a drum a classmate of mine bought new around 1977/78 so it seems the odd badge was "factory".
Some of the other badges like this are on drums that appear to have been made around 1970. I have a couple of theories but I doubt anyone knows for sure what the story behind them might be.
