Unfortunately, Louie wasn't a lefty, so that is right out. Cool kit though.

I read the signature as "Suzie Lee Paslle". What do others see? Probably some bored kid practicing their handwritting on the drum head of a drum set in their uncle's basement during a family reunion. :)-Tim

If it was written by a leftie, seems odd to start the signature so close to the hoop but it looks like a leftie script..

looks like it says Suzie La Belle. Suzie , as in Suzanne, the French form.

I bought an old Slingerland bass drum a few years ago with the signature Jerry P. Landis on the calf skin batter.. which I then learned is the name Paul Simon played under many years ago when he and Art Garfunkle performed as Tom and Jerry but I can't for life of me find anything he ever autographed as Jerry Landis. So I just go with it's Paul Simon... and I'm thinking that says to Suzie, Louis Bellson for sure.Party

Now that is a cool story. I'd try to contact Paul Simon and tell his people the story. Maybe he'll offer you a couple hundred grand for it back :)

I did put a picture on it on Paul Simon's facebook page last year.... so far no limos with suitcases of cash rolling up. :)

I also sent a note to the PBS show "History Detectives" because I think it is a cool mystery... no takers. :(

I think you and I are the only ones who think it is interesting. Cool Dude

Sorry for the thread Hijack... I'll shut up about my drum head and get back to Patti's little sister Suzie.

Not a Guru... just interested..

And somewhere in a nursing home who knows where, little Suzie now sits, not remembering when, if ever, signing a drum; who the drummer was; or much else for that matter.
