I had book cases on that wall then.
Redid everything, moved the cases out, gave me a whole lot more room.
Next....... I want a 50" on the wall above the piano.

I was posting some pictures on another thread and kept skiping over ones with "busy" backgrounds, and thought someone else might like to see what else lurks in the background kinda "look through your medecine cabinet" so to speak. also this could be a guage as to how sick you are when it comes to drums. just dont let your wife see all those sets in one place at the same time!!so here is what is supposed to be our family room...[IMG][/IMG]

For all the years that I gigged (1957--1978), I never owned more than one drum set with a single snare drum at any one time. I had no real hobbies as I approached retirement. I'm not a car or motorcycle hobbyist or a woodworker or a creator of visual arts or stamp collector, etc. I acquired one set of 1960's Slingerlands which started me on buying and trading vintage drums from the 50's and 60's with an occasional early 70's set. Much of the pleasure I get from this hobby is in working out swaps of drums I have for drums that someone else has, and we both would like to trade for what the other guy has. My cymbals (all Avedis Zildjian) were mostly acquired as new durig my gigging years. A few other cymbals have come in to my possession in the past few years. If I added up all the money that I have invested in my current ten drum sets, cymbals, pedals, and hardware, it would not equal what many people have invested in one single antique car or a modest boat.
This used to be the family room also.

What he said.
I owned one drumset, my first, for 25 years. I sort of grew into collecting. I needed a second set. Then I aquired another snare or two. Then it was all about finding the set I took my first lessons, and learned how to play. Found out that set had been destroyed due to being left in a barn for 25 years. So, I found a set almost just like it. And from that point it became an addiction to color, sound, and well....... here we are.
I have invested about what some of my buddies have invested in their hot rods.
This is my hot rod.
