once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Saw that listing. In fact, I messaged him to inquire about the rest of pictures showing the entire drum with hardware. I don't believe he's a member of this forum.

Update: just heard back from the seller. More pictures to be posted by Tuesday, after he finishes with his Chemo sessions.

Is that the reason he's been selling for the last year or so, some health issues? Here's hoping he overcomes that if so.

I love the intensity of his ads. And he always holds off loading the pictures. I would imagine it's intended to build suspense. Always a great read though. Everything is always of a fantastic level.

That particular floor tom is a rare bird. I wish I fully appreciated how rare years ago. My wife bought me a steel grey ripple Headliner back around 2000 or so. I was out of the country and she saw a local advert. When I got home, there was the original Headliner, COB PowerTone, hardware, A's, and low and behold: a 14x14 blue ripple floor tom. She paid $400 for the whole lot and I think I sold that floor tom for that amount alone after looking for matching pieces for a year or so without success. Guess we could say I lacked foresight for the current pricing!! DOH
