I don't know where to post this question. So, I picked the most logical section to post in. I have a Rogers Holiday "set" that I want to sell. Unfortunately, all the drums, mounted toms, floor tom and bass where all drilled and re-drilled by a previous owners. The drums were drilled to add Pearl hardware. A purist probably won't touch these. On top of the drilling, I think they were re-wrapped. They sound great and function great as a set. I bought another vintage set and don't need this set anymore. Should I try selling each drum? Try selling just the hardware that is original Rogers? In what category will there be a market? I plan to use ebay to find buyers. Thanks for the suggestions.

Sell it as a set even though they have been messed with. Nothing I cant stand more is when someone parts out a kit and then the drum itself......unless the shell is damaged beyond repair, then I could see parting out the drum.

I don't even know how to begin to price it. I had not seen any sales or listings of Rogers drums that have been messed with in this way.

Put a reserve on them for the minimum you want to get for them and let them go from there....

Ditto that, vintagetone, man.
I, too, growl when I see sellers putting up individual drums from a set in separate auctions - it just seems greedy - and appalling.
Should your auction not meet your reserve, or if no one seems interested, then you might try listing just the Rogers hardware by itself - but don't remove it unless ya get a buyer and it's worth your while. Photograph it all as close-ups, and offer good looks at whatever you're listing.
Otherwise, if the first auction for the set doesn't work out, and/or the Rogers hardware doesn't satisfy you, maybe try a "Make Me An Offer" listing...

I'm sure you'd get some offers on one of these here forums and save a lot of ebay headache (re: for sale section).
