So there is one bid on this at $7.99. Less than one day left. I'm posting all of the photos that are listed with the drum. I have my guess that this is a brass shell due to the dent by the strainer. I'm also pretty positive I know the maker. But I'd like to see what others think. Oh and this was listed as an Evans 360 snare....

That will be the "Festival" shell... (earliest versions had that flattened 180 fold over.. instead of the conventional bearing edge)..

Cheers

Think John may be correct Have one, thin COS Ok but not outstanding. Nice this one has the seldom seen zero-gravity snare wires option as well :-)

I saw a weird looking 6 lub COB on Ebay. Could that be what this is? I mean for 7.99 I'm buying regardless. 1963 model no.140 is what the ebay drum was described as.

Yea for 8 there is no going wrong here, lol. Just trying to figure out what I'm getting in terms of shell material. But I can see aluminum being easily dented. This is the ebay one I think may be the same as what I'm getting. Item # 201504335589

Slingwingding....(had to give 'em 10 characters....)

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Have the latter ribbed aluminum shell. 2 ply but still thin. Going to be the best $8 dollars ever spent. Will be interested in what you think of the sound. Bit of work and will polish to a mirror finish.

Congrats nice find!!
