Sat. morning score- Kent Content Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Loading...

Spotted this beaut on craigslist, said it came with "Kent Sticks and Box".

Picked it up this morning and not only does it have a "box" it also came with a mint nickle plated stand, drum key, brushes, stand warranty card (expired in 1970) and a drum book.

The "box" is a square hard case in an ever so chic black and white houndstooth.

Did I mention MINT calf heads as well?

Attached are the sellers pics, I will post more after I clean 'er up.

In that condition it was a major score, esp with all the xtras..

Thanks Wayne, just pulled it all apart and I dont even need to re-collar the calf!

Per usual for these drums the bearing edge needs some fine sanding, there is brown glue or "stain" on the inside of the shell.

The grommet is tight, the shell's not split, cracked, etc.

I even think wit some love the hardware will have that nice Nickle glo.

Excellent score! I like Kent drums, I own a kit that I scored for 15.00. But your snare in that condition is even better deal! Happy for you!

Thank you!

Wow a whole kit for 15 is QUITE a score!

I started polishing the rims as we waited for the parade to come by today. They're going to shine up well :)

However there is some damage from moisture trapped at the flesh hoop on the rims. I may be able to remove it.

The rims seem to pretty nice nickle plated steel.

The more i look at this drum, I dont think it was played very much at all.

Well I need to be honest here. I bought the snare, bass drum and a 13" tom for 15.00 The floor tom was a Zim-gar auqua sparkle, the Kents wer dark blue sparkle. So just recently I found a matching floor tom, and that cost me 175.00 for that alone. So total on the kit is really 190.00. Its just fun to say I I got a kit for 15.00, and I really did. But it took more that that to make it a matched set.

Thank you!

I`ve always loved Kent drums and they seemed to age in sound much sooner than the USA made kits from that time and i`m a true believer that drums, like any other instrument made of wood, get better in tone with age...
