Good luck on that search. That was a cool ride. As an aside, I was handed down one of his practice/home kits. It sits at a church, as they are taking good care of it. I did hold on to his hats here at the house. They are something else. Smooth 15 inch hats that just ooooooze groove. I loved that guys work.

He was a monster. It was a sad day indeed when he passed away. More guys should know about him.

I have one, but its not for sale. Love it. I wanted to keep it put away, but it sounds to good. He was a great player. I bought my first set of Z's from his wife's store with his son Shawn's help. Wow, that was almost 30 years ago. Eye Ball

Good luck with your search. Have you tried contacting Sabian? They may have one similar or the same thing labeled as something else. If your friend is just searching for the sound, it may be your best bet. If he wants the label, you/he may be out of luck....
