Ok, don't laugh (go head I know you're gonna) but does anyone have any docs or vid links on putting together a Ludwig Supraphonic? I took mine apart to clean it and it's been awhile so this wknd I plan to get it back together and just want to make sure I put all the washers and rings and doo dads back in the right place. Don't wanna be playing it and it just flies apart on me.

Thanks.

You guys are great! Here's what I have so far. Not much but what has me a bit confuddled is the washers & nuts on the right next to muffler. I kept them together to facilitate the assembly. I haven't tried to assemble it yet as I had to get heads. Also noticed 5 lug washers are missing.

Get this...found Remo Ambassador coated & Pinstripe at Best Buy for less than $6 total. Also picked up an ancient Ludwig snare stand at Music Go Round for $3. Doubt I'll play on it but great for display.

Plan on using the Pinstripe head as a reso. Any thoughts on that?

I wish I could help!!. Help2.... I'm so far away...

(I think I could do it blind....LOL)

First, be patient, and then I suggest you must take a look at some pics here and there of a complete Supra (interior and exterior) and you will do it successfully !!!!!

Go for it!!

Best luck!!

Hmmm my friend.... Pinstripe as a reso looks like a hat in your feet.

But, regarding sounds and tastes, No one knows!!

I´ll suggest you a diplomat snare instead or even an ambassador or emperor snare (if you are a Remo guy of course)Cool1

Well I did want the coated head for the batter. Then started thinking geez, I can pick up a Pinstripe for $3??? Hell if anything just use it as a backup head. Do you think Pinstripe as batter and coated as reso would be better?

Well... if you dont want to spend 10 bucks on a really snare side head, I could choose that combo (pinst. up - amb. coated down)

Allow me to tell you that it will be a good combo sound anyway.Clapping Happy2

Try with diferents level of tension on the batter side... Tight the pin allways a little bit higher.

Let me know how it works!!!

Absolutely not. If you have to collect cans in order to buy a proper snare side head, do it. Night and say difference.
