Storm Trooper I am wanting to add some roto toms to my kit. Does anyone have any experience with any off-brand roto toms that are good, or is it Remo only regarding these? I have said it a million times, but I don't gig, record, or even play for anyone really so as long as they sound decent, that is good enough for me and the dog!

I guess I am asking if anyone can recommend a cheaper roto tom from experience. The most important issue to me is stability. I don't want to try and save a couple bucks and have some junkers crash into my mint-condish Slingys'!crying2-07crying2-07

I bought several Vex roto toms. Very sturdy hardware and even the heads they ship with are fine. You're talking a drum head on a rim...I still don't understand how they make such a tonal sound!! I have both Vex and the original Remo's and if you close your eyes, use the same heads, you can not tell which is what. Like I said, the $99 free shipping Vex roto's are extremely

sturdy and well worth the $$$$$$$$$$$. Just my opinion.

I'm a CraigsList junkie and i see Remo's Roto's all the time on their site! I picked up mint set about 4 years ago for $100. that were like new...it's a bit of a hassle but may be worth the effort! They are tricky to place if you have a lot of cymbals.....GOOD LUCK!

They are vintage-70's- on a slingerland stand.

No heads and they're in great shape....
