Nice looking shells in unusual sizes. Don't see that everyday. Thanks.
According to the "new products" price list that I have dated September 12, 1980 (that I obtained from a dealer), Rogers started making the XL tom toms, bass drums, and floor toms at that time. The Heritage 5 and 7 are on this list also. The 10 ply maple dynasonics, supertens, and natural brass finish snare drums are listed also. Here is a more detailed description of the sizes available:
Tom toms: 8 X 6, then same diameter and depth 8,10,12,13,14,15,16
Power shell tom tom: 14 X 16
Floor tom: 14 X 14
Bass Drums: 16 X 18, 18 X 20, 18 X 22, 18 X 24
It's too bad that production ended in late 83 to early 84!

Great looking kit! Thanks for posting the photos. I bet that is great fun to play.
Amos was referring to this kit having an unusual grouping of sizes, not that the sizes themselves were unusual. Typically when you see power toms like this you would find a much larger bass drum as well as a larger floor tom or two. Bass drums would usually be 22 or 24 in diameter. You would find a 16 or an 18 floor tom, or both for that matter. If you had an 18" kick it would normally. E accompanied with a 12-14 or a 12-16 in traditional depths.
This kit might be an attempt to utilize power tom depths without having to reach for them. I would wager a guess that they were intended for a funk or fusion setting. Regardless, that is seriously cool!
Very proud owner of a new Blaemire Snare 6.5 x 14 made by Jerry Jenkins "Drumjinx"

Yep. You explained it better than I did. The bd is most unusual with those toms. Still Excellent COOL!
