Well I've no idea about the Toms, he didn't play em! But the Kik drum sounds quite phat. The Snare is a little thin sounding to me. The wobble on that rack Tom would do my head in. Is that normal for Swivo mounts?

I think that kit was once in my possession. I believe it has a relatively rare 16x14 floor tom and the snare is a Tower model if nothing has changed. I'm less certain why the snare isn't in the archive picture I have, but it could be I had it stored elsewhere. Nice kit. Not sure why he didn't play the toms in the video. Also, he has the tom arm out as far as it goes and that is why it's swaying. At about half mast they are reasonably rigid.

That video is quite old though. At least a couple of years.

I have a 16 x 14 pre-badge Slingerland floor tom, a great drum! I'm not sure why this size isn't more available these days. A perfect size/sound for those who find the 14 x 14 lacking and takes up less room than a 16 x 16.

Never play it the same way once.

Seen that video a while back.. Cool looking kit with gold plated hardware.. And being previously owned Louie Bellson and then later by Sammy Davis Jr. is even cooler.. Can't even imagine that the hardware was on it's way to the trash.. !!

Yep! The guy, JJ Johns I think the name is, has nothing but amazing sounding clips, always recorded with just a Zoom unit or whatever, one mic. Some of his original patterns are really cool too!

[edit]...and also, yes I want to own some Rogers one day...
