Rogers Swivomatic pedal help

Loading...

Hey fellas, I scored this Swivomatic pedal recently and upon receiving it I noticed a few things.

There's a screw missing to adjust the height of the cam.

The bassdrum hoop clamp is missing 2 plates that clamps on the hoop (see last picture with the red circle).

Can someone help me out or point me in the right direction?

Any leads or advice is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately I can't open up the cam the inspect the insides, to check whether it has ball bearings or bushings (I think it's bushings, because the pedal is quite sluggish) as I don't have the correct Allen key.

I read on other forums that you can install B-68 needle bearings to recreate the first version of this pedal. Anyone here have experience with this? Thank you all in advance.

Check with Jollity Drum Farm for the parts you need. He should have them. Can't advise on the bearings, but someone will, no doubt, chime in on that part.

I found some IKO B-68 needle bearings in the UK, they were cheap enough to try out switching out the copper bushings.

It turns out that the IKO bearings do fit, one side slid in easily while the other side I had to use a hammer.

Once installed, they shaft rotated smoothly. The pedal is much smoother now. One thing I should point out is that this IKO bearing has 10 neeldes, while according to another forum the first generation had 22 needles, the second generation had 11.

If you wanna keep it as original as possible try finding the Torrington B-68 needle bearings, I've seen them online but I didn't want to invest to find out it didn't work.

As for the plates for the hoop clamp, I'll wait it out for now.
