Rogers Sparkling Silver Pearl v.s. Silver Sparkle Pearl Last viewed: 10 seconds ago

From what I've read Rogers offered two (2) silver pearl wraps through the years -- its "Sparkling Silver Pearl" up until 1964 and its "Silver Sparkle Pearl", starting in 1965.

I'm trying to confirm the fact that the former wrap was in fact considered a silver "glass glitter" while the latter was considered a silver "sparkle." It also appears that the earlier wrap was a bit darker wrap than the latter. Is this true?

I've got a Cleveland-era Rogers Powertone snare with a serial number of 12650. Is it safe to assume that my wrap is the "Sparkling Silver Pearl" in lieu of the "Silver Sparkle Pearl"?

Finally, is one wrap considered more desirable and/or valuable than the other?

Perhaps they made a change later in the Fullerton era. The silver glass (sparkling silver pearl) is beautiful under the lights, and difficult to photograph....

The circa 64-64 SS has the "orange peel" effect going on if you run your hand over it. I just got a Beavertail 20" SS Cleveland,and it has that.

I think the number on your powertone puts it into 1966. Early. And that is very desireable. Its Cleveland Rogers.

I'm posting two pictures of my 1972 BR Celebrity kit. While advertised as a "Sparkle", it was in fact a Glass Glitter. Had that kit for 10 years, purchasing it brand new. While I did have a COS Dynasonic (only because it would have taken 6 months for a matching wood-shell Dyna!) the snare you see is the Slingerland 12-lug TDR Spitfire. Oh, if I only still had that kit!

I've already looked at the completed items on e-Bay but didn't see any in this particular wrap from the Cleveland-era.
