I don`t know a lot about Rogers:-(

Wich year it was built and what is the name of this snare?

The first pic is the way i got it, the others after cleaning! I also put new heads on it! The Snarestand is also original Rogers.

From vintagemore2000

It is a Rogers Dyna sonic snare drum ...

... and a 6.5 x 14 too! How's it sound?

Chrome over brass snares are "all purpose" drums. When you find the right head/wire combination, you'll never want to use another snare. But that usually doesn't stop someone from buying more. Cool Dude

Serial Number?

I estimate the year of manufacture between 1976-1979. Give me a serial and I can be a little closer to the year. I judge the estimate by the solid top knobs on the throw off and the dampener. I can also tell you the serial is probably not in the D20000-D50000 range.

Dynasonic snare #D737942 should be mid to late 1978, but Ploughman can verify this with certainty. Although a lot us Rogers owners prefer the earlier script, swivomatic sets, a 1978 Big R Rogers set for 200Euros was a steal. You did well. Does the Dynasonic still have the snare frame on it?

Nice set Christian.

You admitted you do not know a lot about Rogers, so you may not be aware if the snare drum parts are all there or not.

Judging by the photos, I am guessing the snare frame is not on the drum, and in all probability, you may not even know what the snare frame looks like. Sometimes a missing part is not obvious.

If you do a quick internet search you will find photos of what the frame looks like, and what it does. If it is missing, you will be able to find one for sale. They are available.

A dynasonic snare should have the snare frame , even though the drum could be used without it.

Dynasonic drums without the frame are considered "incomplete". It is a small matter to make it complete.

If the frame is present, and you have the correct original or replacement snares, then you are good to go!
