Rogers Red Sparkle Tower Set 20,12,14

Loading...

For those of you who may be interested in Rogers Tower drums, Guitar Center has a red sparkle set in the Cleveland area store. The store information is here:

North Olmsted, Ohio 44070

440-777-7900

Ask for Dan in the drum department. The set is interesting in that it was manufactured with the tom mount further up the drum, and on the other side of the top left lug. More convenient than the normal location. In addition, the floor tom has knobby legs. There does not appear to be a modification in either case, but you need to check that out carefully. At least on of the knobby mounts has Allen wrench screws now, so that too should be checked to see if they used a matching thread or if the holes have been re-tappped (or stripped!). Could be they have all been changed.

Overall, it appears to be a special order set. It will need a collet on the cymbal mount, as well as a rod and tilter, or even rod with extension tilter.

Price is $799 and they will ship to you or your nearby Guitar Center free of charge. You usually have 7-day right of return. Might even be able to get a break on the price. It is listed in their website, but only comes up under used gear, not vintage gear for some reason.

Good luck if you choose to pursue it. Of course, if you obtain it, we will need a full report.

These are fantastic sounding drums. I owned a set that I regretted selling from the moment they left my home. Perhaps its the center lugs, who knows, but I miss that set. I'd be on the phone right now if I didn't recently overextend myself with a purchase. I hope someone here grabs them.

Are you from the Cleveland area?

No. If I was, I would certainly make the trip to check them out. I'm tempted as it is, but have other more pressing interests. Imagine buying a Cleveland set in Cleveland though. That would be very cool!!

Fantastic little kits... with that wonderful Rogers hardware. I have Slingerlands, Ludwigs and Rogers in the house and when it comes time to play I always find myself behind the little Tower kit. :) Keep on Pl

I`ve never owned a Tower set, but as Sanityclause has said-the center mounted one lug is likely the key to these great sounding Tower sets. It leaves more resonance from the shell as a result of less hardware directly connected to the shell.Hope someone here gets em`...

Dan-thanks for posting and for giving some interested parties here a chance to grab those beauties.I`d swim across Lake Erie for them but too cold this time of year. And to buy a set of Clevelands in Cleveland says it all.

Here is some additional data I almost missed, as it was embedded in the message. Must have been issued from a phone. It would seem this was a kit from day one, and possibly needs to have the threads checked on the tom arm set screws and knobby leg mounts.

Then a good cleanup. You may have to swap out a few parts, but otherwise should yield a nice 20,12,14 kit. Hurry and act before I'm tempted to take it myself!

[Quote] Looking inside all the shells no drill holes what so ever apart from pieces already installed. Just a few staples from the Rogers logo on the shells.

Made in Cleveland ohio.
