Loading...

A friend has the kit he wants to flip..

Is going to send pics in a few days...

20,12,13,16 FLAT GREY Cleves....

No extra holes!

Think he is wanting $750,,,plus ship from Michigan...

Is that too much?

Doesn't sound like too much, though I'm no Rogers expert. An American vintage kit in good shape with no extra holes in good sizes will usually command a decent price, right?

That configuration was very popular in its day, but less so now. However, it is a catalog kit. If in very, very good shape it could be worth all that and more to the right person. Red sparkle is one of the more sought after Rogers colors at the moment.

See the Rogers 67-68 kit in the vintage drum guide link at the top of this page for a picture. Of course, I'm assuming it is a Londoner with an original heavier-built double tom holder.

Yes Sir Blair, it can make a "Celebrity" out of any drummer. Cool Dude

Prejudice may be informing my evaluation, but a while back they were quite hot and you don't see too many good ones. I've seen a lot with splotched, cracked or crazed wrap. The wrap on this one is new glass glitter. Original wrap was toast. It was applied by Anthony at the Village Drum Shop in RI, and he refinished the hoops to an as-new appearance. Excellent work.

Some pschological impacts might be in there too. I always seemed to play very hot on a 20,12,14 set I had back in the mid-90's. (Don't know why because I can't play hot anymore no matter what the color is. Violin).

Maybe because it's a cheery look and tends to put me in a good mood overall. I can tell you the glass glitter Rogers drums look great under the lighting of a summer night gig. I'm hoping to get this set into that situation sometime in the next month or so. I do have to pick up a hat stand soon though.
