I have a chance to buy this late 50's early 60's four piece Rogers Holiday kit with matching snare for $1000. The problem is that the bass drum has an extra hole drilled in it, the inlays are not there, there is some rust on the hardware and one of the lugs is broken. What do you guys think about this price?

I bet more than one of the lugs is broken .
i would offer $800, as long as those B&B lugs are all useable, that's a pretty rare finish and it is a Cleveland era Rogers.
My vote also goes with more than one lug being broken! Take a magnifying glass and look closely at all the lugs. Heck, you probably won't even need a magnifying glass! The well-built shells and fairly rare wrap keep the price high, but the B&B lugs lower the price. If you have to start replacing lugs with those by Jim Petty, plan on spending quite a bit! Still, it's a cool, and rare, kit and may be worth the expense. Keep us informed!

I'd start at $800. But I'd go as high as $950 to get it. Replace the broken lug and enjoy it. It will be a wonderful sounding any playing kit.
Not very knowledgeable regarding Rogers drums.
How rare is this finish?
Cracked Bnb lugs are easy fix and it's solid no worries. Broken mounting tabs can be a bit tricky. But doable. Those small peanut size lugs don't break much. Replacement lugs are easy to find.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Rare enough. It was unpopular and undesirable just enough back when it was offered to make it popular and desirable now among collectors. Sort of like Green Sparkle. The rare and desirable finishes are the ones no one ordered. Ironic.

That kit has been floating around for a while.
Some awful work done to the BD. $1000.00 for the drums, minus $200.00 bass drum butchering fine, $200.00 to replace already cracked B&B lugs and ones that will crack. I would offer $600.00 knowing that you'll probably drop another $200 to $400 bringing this kit back to it's previous glory. But you will end up with a nice piece of Rogers history. Good Luck!
