Rogers Knobby

These are what came with the drum I purchased. The complete knobby on the left came off the floor tom. All 3 are the same. The partial knobby came on the bass drum. Swivo-matic hardware,when introduced, came with hex only is what I gather.There were round legs in the 50s I believe,maybe early 60s. There was a pair on ebay yesterday. When I removed these knobbys off the floor tom,I could seethat they were never removed before. The star washer marks are original. Meaning only one dent per star,if ya get what I mean. Anybody want to guess whats going on? Hex legs fit but again the knobby is round on both sides.

Any info on this would be appreciated.

The hex is the right leg design..

Add a pic of the paper tag inside the Flr Tom she'll..

I have a set of 1963..67..& 70

All the Flr Tom mounts are rounded inside...and all have hex shaped legs.

Also, you most likely already know this...

You have Gretsch T rod and claws on the Reso side of the kick...

It is the correct part for the hex leg. This is how it was done..... back in the day when all was right in the world. Before Pearl Tom Mounts were invented. And life went into the toilet.

Ed,

I'd be really interested to see the tag numbers inside those Dayton drums. When you posted pictures of this knobby in the Wanted section, I initially thought (incorrectly) it was a cymbal L-rod holder and you needed the "hex-grooved" knobbies for the hex legs, but after going through the parts catalogs, the casted hex-grooved knobby wasn't produced until the Fullerton era, so your machined round-grooved knobbies are correct and original for your Dayton floor tom. But a Dayton-era Holiday should have large round internal washers, not star washers as you describe, unless you have a really late Dayton/Fullerton transition drum. So what are your serial numbers?

This was my original post. The pics are there. The Bass is a Holiday Dayton,the toms are Holiday Fullerton.

Thanks for all the help and answers fellas!!! I am no expert and this round knobby through me for a loop because I never saw one on a floor tom. But a few other guys said they had them also.. My other 2 Rogers sets are both 9/72s.

p.s. My bad on the star washers they came off the 12 inch tom. But I could still see the floor tom brackets and lugs were never removed before.
