I picked up some vintage Rogers drums and have been trying to get an idea of year and location of manufacturing. Here is a picture of the tag inside the mounted Tom, any ideas?
Rogers inside tag help please.
1965 Club Date/Downbeat Combo Blue Sparkle
Cleveland Rogers COB Powertone snare
1965 Ludwig Supra Snare
My first pro kit was a Rogers Celebrity, purchased in the summer of 1972. It had the same tags. Like the tag shows, Rogers began using these in 1972 and discontinued them around the time of the Big R kits, which I believe was in 1975. I'm sure others will chime in with more info.

Tags started in 1972, after Powertone or Power Tone tags. Later tags had progressively later Letters.

So these are the Rogers version of the Blue/Olive Ludwig badge (lol). Were these "Made in the USA"?
Thanks for the quick replies!

Rockiezz,
Those "9/72" series Rogers were most definitely made in the USA... Fullerton CA to be precise. Rogers labels and serial numbers are not a precise dating indicator, but they do provide an approximate date of manufacture (which is no indication as to when they were sold).
The 9/72 series labels started in 1972 with underlined serial numbers (no letter prefix)
In 1973, an "A" was added before the underlined serial number.
In 1974, a "B" was added before the underlined serial number.
In 1975, both the letter prefix and the underline were dropped.
I can attest that this is accurate. I purchased two Rogers toms in late 1973 and both had the "A" labels. Then in the summer of 1975, I custom ordered a large double-bass set, and all the labels were a mix of 1974 "B" labels and 1975 labels.
Check the plies, yours could be 3 ply.
