Rogers Fullerton screw & washer confirmation assistance ||

I bought a Fullerton Blue Onyx kit & the BD had carpet screwed down entirely throughout the interior. My question = are the screws & washers original, or am I going to need to replace them?

Appreciate any comments -

I would think they would have had to be longer to accommodate clearance for thickness of the carpet. Slotted hex are correct, same with star washers.

Thank you!

Is anything missing in the mix? & do I need to be extra careful when re-fastening lugs?

The onyx wrap is flawless & I do not wish to crack it -

The screws look about right, but the washers look small to me....perhaps there were several sizes?....here is a pic of some Fullerton era screws....hope it helps

Mudjacker is right and what he has seems more correct.. What you should do is look for impressions in the paint. It will tell you what the size was originally. Also the screws, if too long, could break or strip the lug part they go in. Worth taking some extra time to check. If you tighten them up and the lug is loose, or screw head sticks out to the point where you can move the washer after affixing the screw, they where replaced.

Mine has one big star washer and one little one per screw stacked up. Looks like yours might be missing the big ones? They arent big like the Cleveland ones that they had on the inside screw only...they are smaller than that, star shaped, but bigger than the ones currently on there.

Thanks guys!

Looks like I need new washers. Do I need originals, or will new hardware store washers do -

I would actually start with the length of the screws, this way if you need washers, you can purchase screws and washers together {I see them sold like this on FeeBay}. As to originality? Depends on you. I dont have any more Fullerton era drums. But maybe someone who does could measure theirs and tell you what they should be with pics. Maybe post in the wanted section what your looking for after you find out what you should have.

It looks like that the screws are to long.On the Rogers screws for these drums they are alittle over 1/4" long they are gray in color not like the silver ones you have. The set up that Rogers used was a small Star shape washer-{also called a tooth washer} next to the screw then a small flat washer that goes next to the drum shell.Oh also the Rogers screws are self-tapping ones. The way to tell is look at the end of the screw you will see a small cut-out at the side at the end of the screw.Mikey
