Rogers Dynasonic, script logo

Hey everyone, I picked up this Dynasonic at the local Guitar Center and I was very excited to finally have one. Came with a Vintage A batter (score) and some plain snare wires. It's missing the snare frame and the right hoop, but I thought it sounded pretty good nonetheless. It was very distinct. It didn't have that Dynasonic sound, but it was much more pleasing than the plain steel snares I've used for years.

After some time with it, I decided to change out the snare side head for a hazy Ambassador and change the wires for some Puresound Dynasonic wires.

However, in so doing, it now sounds like all my other snares!! It wasn't perfect before but it was much better... I take it this means I will need to hunt down the correct snare hoop and snare frame then? Or maybe I'm tuning them wrong...

I love the design of the Dynasonic!

Yes, if it were mine, I would hunt down the hoop and frame. Setting them up is a lot of fun, and once she's dialed in? Oh man!Walking

You can also change around the tuning as is and get a pretty sweet sound.

Good luck and enjoy!Yes Sir

Looking in good shape.

If you can get a frame it's really worth it. Oh and you referred to steel shell snares, you have a Chrome Over Brass drum there.

Congrats on owning one of THE best snare drums ever made and as someone has already mentioned...once she`s dialed in you`ll be in Heaven with that classic Rogers Dyna sound!
