On second thought, just sell the Rogers for whatever Guitar Center will give you for them in trade. Take whatever you can get. Because where I see this going is some pearl mounts and a couple of pipes shoved through the top of the bass drum to accommodate having "enough" drums to play. Just my two cents.

If you want another tom just buy any random brand and fly it off of a cymbal stand. Problem solved. I rarely play two up but now that all my main kits have virgin or no mount bass drums I just fly my toms off of cymbal stands or snare stands.
Anyway go beyond the showroom glitz and glam. Guitar Center has NOTHING on Thomann or Session music. Either music store has kits into the $10k range and more. Same with your actual real drummer's store. The point being take a look at bearing edges, hardware, warranty and so forth. Then remove brand from the equation and let your ears guide you.
I just can't see anything modern coming close to the sound of your rogers for less than maybe $3k. DW, Sonor, Tama you name it - thinner shells with re-enforcing rings are going to set you back some $$$. Don't take my word for it since my modern kit will only set you back $7k.
I have gone through a lot of vintage kits in my short time here and what I will say is that Rogers stand out as great drums and very versatile instruments. That being said if you have the need to sell your kit there are plenty on here who will make a fair offer.
Guitar Center will give you at most 65% of what the kits go for on Ebay.

Mum or whoever is on the line, there is a simple solution. Trade what you have to someone here that has a Rogers set of a similar era, but has two toms on the bass. That set will look something like this, only possibly in another color. Then you'll have the best of both worlds you want to be in - great vintage sound and reliability, as well as two toms on top. If you need another on the floor, add it too. They show up as single floor toms regularly on eBay and sometimes here too.
Okay!...
... I think we're all done here! I am going to CLOSE this thread, but not DELETE it... yet. Our new member "mum", whomever that might be, the father, son, mother, whatever!, can start a new thread on this subject if desired, and make the attempt to approach it in a better way. We have a bunch of GREAT members here and LOTS of knowledge. Feel free to use the forum and participate, but do it wisely. If subsequent threads/posts by "mum" continue in this direction, I'll be thinking troll, and said troll will be banished and sent back under the bridge. Now, back to our regularly scheduled show!
