Rogers collet...straight or angled?

Loading...

Hey everybody,

In reference to the attached post link, I was wondering what the correct collet type would be for the tom mount, straight or angled? I'm a rookie when it comes to Rogers drums. If more information is need let me know! I'm all set with the spurs and some lugs and t-rods (getting bit by bit).

Thanks in advance!

Are you referring specifically to the bracket for your bass drum? If so, it would need a straight collet. All toms also used straight collets. Normally, when Rogers installed collets just off-center on the bass drum, they used the "short-angle" collect bracket, which eventually became known as the 60-degree collet. When the bracket was installed on either the right/left side of the bass drum, the collet used was the "angle" mount, eventually being called the 75-degree collet. When pictured side-by-side, you can definitely tell the difference between these two collets. Hope this helps!

Yup, I was referring to just the bass drum bracket (though I do have a tom for this as well that would require a collet, so thanks for the info!).

That helps! Thanks for all the info idrum4fun!

Much appreciated.

Since the holes are in the center of the bass drum, a 90 deg. (straight) collet would be recommended. The same would go for the tom.

Thanks for the info everyone (and confirmation Dave!)

I'll post my inquiries here first before resorting to the bay.

Many thanks!
