I am considering selling this set and wondering what a fair price is. I am notorious for under selling stuff and don't want to rip myself off. The wraps have some hairline cracks around a few lugs and the floor tom has a long crack on the opposite side of the badge. They still look and sound great. Have a guy coming to look at them today. I'm thinking $550, $500.

Thanks, really am not crazy about selling them and thought of rewrapping them one day but need the space. So I will stick to my price.

Was wondering how I could save the foil badges, or are they thin metal ?

Foil badges are possible to save, but hard to do well. Your price is what the current market will support. I recently sold the same configuration without the tom stand for the same money. Took a couple of months and without any cracked wrap.

Your price is spot on. I recently had two Rogers Big R kits and basically sold them for $500 each when I traded them for a C&C Player Date with a Yamaha Maple Custom snare. I am amazed at what is considered collectible and what is not. It is not as though a mid 70's Ludwig kit was made better. It simply is what it is. It is cool however that you know what you have and are realistic with the price.

Five Digit badges are the earliest, 1975-76. Six Digit D6----- badges are easier to save, Six Digit D7-----, D9-----, RD prefix, and D1xxxxx are the easiest. You can get those to peel off and they will reattach. Remove grommet first, they wont come out together easily.

And be patient... none of these are easy.

Those earliest badges had a vinyl backing and weren't a foil badge. The facing separates from the backing rather easily.
