was curious why G/C is only asking 169.99 for this kit.

Because it's imported junk, not a "real" Rogers kit.
Keep looking.
aw ok thanks, didn't know that there was a "not real" rogers.
Those drums are manufactured by the Chinese conglomerate LAME Industries,LTD.I believe EVERY brand of drums has a LAME in it's extended family.Like Ludwig Accident and Slingerland YO-mama...in most instances (not all) to be a member you must have weak and crooked 3/4" or 7/8" double tube tom mounts and five or six-lug toms.
Yep... total import junk! Save your money and look elsewhere for the real deal!
thanks for the info guys. wasn't looking at these to purchase, just curious. am always looking but this kit didn't catch my attention for puchasing, have come across a few other kits tho that i would like to have.
All "real Rogers" with the Big R badges have "USA" on them. Imports just say Rogers.
Not all the Rogers imports are "junk", I had one of those Brook Mays Rogers kits in a cherry finish with a 10,14,20 that looked nice and sounded very good. They were well built and had the beaver tail lugs with script bages. Now, they are not collectable like the USA made Rogers, but for under $300, they made a perfect gigging kit.
Good catch JR. Yes, some of those Brook May kits were pretty good gigging kits. This cheapie import at 169 is fine for a practice space kit or a lesson kit.
