I'm no expert but in pic 2 looks like the part was damaged and fixed. Or possibly still damaged and slightly cracked. Hard to tell from the reflections. Anyway if it was damaged, bent down and or repaired it would make the spur contact the shell inside. Hopefully someone can chime in for you and confirm the problem.

I didn't even consider one of these breaking and being repaired because they seem so sturdy. However, the chrome on this one seems to be in pretty good shape and there isn't much evidence of repair from the outside. It's definitely not cracked right now. Maybe this afternoon I'll take it off and have a look at the inside to see if any repairs were done there.

Maybe just loosen the bolts a bit and see if it can be shifted down a little more to clear the shell better. Perhaps the part has been removed or replaced in the past. If nothing there seems a mis perhaps remove the part and compare the 2 side by side. Look at the angles to see if anything is bent or just different about them. Hopefully some Rogers people can tell more and if there were running production changes that might also contribute to the problem. Good luck!

Rogers made 3 collet plates 60 degree, 75 degree and 90 degree(straight). I have a 20" Dayton and it has 75 degree collets and a 22" Fullerton that has 60s. The one in picture 2 looks like a 60. If thier is another collet on the drum for a cymbal or tom mount they may have got switched

rillow!! you nailed it. I switched the tom mount with the spur-in-question and WALLABY! Two matching spurs.

But, I think FFR is onto something... The mounts didn't get mixed up, I think this one had been repaired from underneath and the angle just didn't jive. There is a tiny crack in the chrome on the outside. I think it was originally like the other two mounts.

Anyone have an extra plate (tom) for a bass drum? This kick is a Headliner configuration.
