Rogers 1972 Dynasonic Snare drum Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Hello:

This is my first post here and I'm glad that this site exists. Lots of great information. I have a number of items that I will be posting on EBay for sale as I get some of my things organized.

I have for sale a 1972 Rogers Chrome Snare Drum (beautiful condition), all cleaned up and polished. I really didn't know how much to ask for this so I will take offers. I'm not really sure what type this is so I would welcome comments.

The serial number is 41551

No snare bridge?

I had taken the snares off while cleaning and took the pictures. It has a purecussion snare across the bottom. Other than that I'm not sure of the configuration.

What he was referring to, was that a very visible component of the drum is missing. Don't think it's a deal killer, since you've already got a bid, but some people won't consider it.

Good luck.

Hello:

Thanks for the comments. The snare bed isn't missing. It didn't come with the snare bed rails. I had taken off the snare when cleaning. Polished up and took a picture, only then realizing that I forgot to put the snares on. The snare is in really, really great condition. Sounds amazing! It's hard top let it go.

You are misunderstanding here... you ARE indeed missing the snare frame/wires, and it is precisely THAT, that really makes a Dynasonic a Dynasonic. Otherwise it is just a 10 lug COB snare drum. The snare frame/wires are of paramount importance here! Also... you have the wrong bottom hoop/guards on this drum as well. Please understand that I'm not intending to bust you here.. not at all! .. just thought you might want to know what's what with your drum. So!...

Missing snare frame/wires

Wrong bottom hoop/guards

But still a fine specimen!... just not a COMPLETE Dynasonic.

Hello and thanks for your posting. The snare wires are actually with the set but didn't post the picture. The bed is missing though as mentioned. You can buy the copies for about $75.00

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROGERS-DYNASONIC-SNARE-FRAME-/300708873276?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4603a5443c

In terms of the wrong hoop on the snare side. If it is the wrong hoop then tell me what era this one comes from?

Actually, I do believe this is the correct one and also shown on another (not as good looking but asking more money) snare on ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Rogers-Dyna-Sonic-Sonic-Snare-Drum-14-x-5-/370561977094?pt=Vintgae_Drums_Percussion&hash=item5647370b06

Thanks for you comments. Starting bid on eBay was $199 and that's a steal for this snare regardless of the missing bed or (possibly) wrong hoop

Thanks again

It's not a "snare bed"... it's called the snare frame/wires.. but again, just thought you might want to know so's you can be accurate! Regarding the bottom hoop:

You have an oval badged 5 line COB Dynasonic here... your bottom hoop is off at LEAST a 1976 "Big R" badged Dynasonic. The bottom hoop and guards with your drum didn't come in until 1976 earliest, and again... that is the "Big R" era Dynasonic, not the oval badge era, which is what your drum is! What is the serial number on your drum? I'll date it for you if you give me the serial number.
